Howard Becker, CPA, Director in the Accounting and Auditing Professional Practices Department of Marks Paneth & Shron LLP, has more than forty years of service in public accounting. Previously Mr. Becker was a Deloitte & Touche Firm Director. He has served clients in all segments of the economy. For over twelve years, he has concentrated in the area of not-for-profit organizations and the related field of compliance auditing. Mr. Becker is the principal author of Deloitte & Touche s "The Effective Not-for-Profit Board." He has presented numerous seminars to clients and others on a wide variety of subjects. Mr. Becker is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where he has served as a reviewer of it guide "Not for profit Organizations," NACUBO, and is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, for which he is currently serving on the Not-for-Profit Organizations Committee. Richard J. Terrano, CPA, is a partner and the Director of Not-for-Profit Services at Rosenberg, Neuwirth and Kuchner, CPAs PC (RNK). Before joining RNK, he was a Senior Manager in the Deloitte & Touche Middle Market Services Group. While he has significant expertise in not-for-profit accounting and taxation, Mr. Terrano also has substantial experience serving closely held companies in the areas of manufacturing, service, distribution, and other industries.
